At Green Platter, we didn’t start with a factory – we started with a question: How can we honour the Earth every time we set the table? Our answer lies in bagasse, the fibrous residue left behind after sugarcane juice extraction. Once treated as agricultural waste, bagasse is now valued as a renewable, compostable raw material. By transforming this by‑product into durable plates, bowls and containers, we reduce landfill waste and support a circular manufacturing process.

Sustainability at our core

Unlike fossil‑fuel plastics that generate significant greenhouse‑gas emissions, bagasse is a low‑carbon material. Because it comes from agricultural residues rather than petroleum, it has much lower greenhouse‑gas emissions compared with plastic. The natural plant fibres in bagasse break down into nutrient‑rich soil within months. The pulp is compostable, PFAS‑free and suitable for hot or cold foods, making our tableware both eco‑friendly and safe.
